The Woodbury County Communications Center is located in Sioux City, Iowa and serves all of Woodbury County, Iowa. We also provide services to North Sioux City, South Dakota. The Woodbury county Communications Center consists of a staff of 22 full-time and 3 part-time Communications Operators, a Communications Center Manager and Communications Director.
The Woodbury County Communications Center provides the following services:
- Enhanced 911 services to all citizens in Woodbury County, Iowa and North Sioux City, South Dakota.
- Radio communications and computer aided dispatch to 6 law enforcement agencies.
- Radio communications and computer dispatch to 19 fire and EMS agencies.
- Monitors fire, intrusion and hold-up alarms for federal, state, and local public buildings.
- Activates and monitors the Sioux City, North Sioux City, Dakota Dunes, Anthon, Bronson, Correctionville, Cushing, Danbury, Lawton, Moville, Oto, Pierson, Sloan and Browns Lake outdoor warning sirens.
- Is a notification point for severe weather activity.
